Inspire Lectures

IAM hosts lectures at Space 38|39 on topics that seek to inspire both the creative community and other leaders from the many tributaries that flow in our cultural river. These lectures have included speakers writer Tony Carnes, artist Makoto Fujimura, as well as business leader Mark Meehan. These events are a way for IAM to inspire many people with the vision for the world that ought to be.

Engage Dialogues

IAM hosts dialogues that facilitate discussions about issues of art, faith and humanity. IAM's weekly discussion meeting, Tribakery, is one of the many events that gather artists to wrestle together. These dialogues tackle some of the practical and pragmatic issues that artists and creative catalysts face as they build sustainable careers in the arts.

Create Presentations

Concerts, art exhibits, art auction, film screenings, poetry readings, book releases, and all manner of art presentations happen at Space 38|39. These events are an opportunity for IAM and its members to let flow into the cultural river works of truth, goodness and beauty.

Tribakery

A small gathering of creative people meet weekly to discuss various arts & faith topics over a leisurely breakfast. Past topics have ranged from film viewings & discussion, to "What is Truth?", to comparing differing worldviews, etc. One week each month, there is an open forum discussion where participants are encouraged to bring personal work to share and discuss with others.

This IAM group normally meets each Wednesday morning 8am at Cafe Pecan on Varick and Franklin Streets. (Take 1/9 subway to Franklin Street stop.)

Contact Kevin Gosa or 212-944-0944 for more information.

Artist's Way

ZoaeCollective and International Arts Movement collaborate to hold weekly small groups to go through "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. An inspirational work that can open new creative avenues for artists to flourish.

Docent to the Arts

IAM's spring and fall fundraiser is a small gathering of friends to experience the best of vibrant cultural life in New York City through the IAM lens of inspiring, engaging, and creating the world that ought to be. Docents bring their insider expertise to each of many events that are all organized and coordinated by IAM. Highlights have included professionally guided art museum and gallery visits, a Jazz at Lincoln Center Performance and a film screening at Tribeca Film Festival. Past Docents include Makoto Fujimura, Kevin Gosa (Award Winning Saxophonist), Sarah Hanssen (Filmmaker, Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute), Denise Kasell (former Executive Director of Hamptons International Film Festival) and Merrily Kerr (Art Critic and Writer).
