New York City offers more art than most people can see in a lifetime, let alone an afternoon. My art tours - Merrily Kerr New York Art Tours - allow you to make the most of your time, ushering you straight to the most talked about contemporary art of the moment or the crème de la crème of the city’s finest museums.
I offer personalized, private tours of art galleries and museums in New York for individuals, couples and groups from the point of view of an active art critic and writer. I contribute regularly to Time Out New York, Art on Paper Magazine and Flash Art in addition to other international art magazines. As well as keeping an overview of the gallery and museums scene, I constantly look for the freshest, most innovative art to talk and write about.
During a standard gallery tour, we visit approximately ten galleries within a radius of several blocks, viewing the most talked about work on show at any given time. Tours begin in a pre-arranged gallery and last approximately two hours. Collection highlight tours are also available at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
All tours are personalized, which means that I operate at your pace, following your interests. Choose from a set itinerary, updated monthly, or allow me to craft a tour according to your interests. My aim is to take art addicts and the art curious alike on an enjoyable trip of cultural discovery.
